Across The Bay
from Homer!
Across the bay from Homer
Alaska is a whole different world to experience.
I have wonderful childhood memories
of a
"paradise untouched". The water
is clear and the mountains literally swoop down
and
touch the sea.
With the exception of Seldovia,
there are no roads across the bay from Homer.
Boats and Float Planes are the only means of
transportation in and out of the many bays and
coves.
Before venturing into this
Alaskan wonderland it is always wise to check
the tide charts. It is very easy to find your
self unable to get out of a cove, scraping
bottom on your
boat. You must be very careful.
Sometimes, even in high tide, if you are
unfamiliar with the waters there can be
unseen
rocks that stick up. The photo on the right is
Little Tutka Bay at low tide...a great example!
If you're visiting Homer,
don't pass up the chance to take a trip
"Across The Bay".
